Page 209: Must keep in mind that extra duplicate genes mutate. Also, there is a lot of “junk” in our DNA.
Page 215-216: “I agree with Joseph Cardinalk Ratzinger that ‘ the great projects of the living creation are not the product of chance and error … [They] point to a creating Reason and show us a creating Intelligence …”
Joseph Ratzinger is now the Roman Catholic Pope in the Vatican. It is interesting that the former, Pope John-Paul II, endorsed the Theory of evolution as reality.
Page 216: About unexplained things in science: You must remember that a lot of this is new — it is only a few decades ago that DNA was found to be the code of life. Scientific research takes time and patience. For complicated situations science will eventually likely be able to describe and explain them. Assuming an IDer did it and end there is a cop-out.
“The great scientists of history — Newton and Einstein, for instance — never thought science’s job was to come up with some sort of self-sufficient explanation for nature,”
Wrong about Einstein, Einstein did think that this was science’s job, Right about Newton, he did not.
Added comment:
– Interesting that Mr. Behe disagrees with Mr. Wells on evolution. There is actually a lot of disagreement between Creationists, even among the subsection of Creationists called ID proponents.
– Is the claimed external God (IDer) the ultimate Black Box? Will how this IDer does miracles, as described in this book, ever be known?
