Fundamentalist Christians often critisize Liberal Christians for considering the bible as errant and for choosing to believe and follow only certain teachings of Jesus and the bible (To me a realistic approach). As you will see on this page, fundamentalist do the same thing – they believe only certain things in the bible and follow only certain teachings of Jesus..
Below are indicators that show if you are a “totally” Biblical Christian or a “total” Jesus Follower. You will see that the number of people that do what Jesus says is essentially zero.
Unless you agree with the items below I cannot see how you can be a spokeperson for Jesus or a representative of Jesus. You may be called a Jesus Follower or Christian, but you are not the Jesus of the Bible Follower or a Bible Christian. You are a Follower of someone or something else. You are no different than a Liberal Christian in this respect. A Big advantage Liberal Christian over a Fundamentalist Christian is that the Liberal accepts the findings of Science, including Darwinian Evolution.
Some say the following sayings by Jesus are ideals. If you work at obeying these sayings you are a Jesus Follower.
Jesus says, “Follow Me”, “believe the gospel”, etc.
Mt 16:24 ś Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any [man] will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
Lu 9:23 And he said to [them] all, If any [man] will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
Mr 1:15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
If there is any conflict between what Jesus says and what Paul or Peter says, Jesus would be considered the truth if you are a follower of Jesus.
Which ones of the sayings of Jesus in this list do you follow?
1. Believe Prayer in public or in front of anyone is wrong. Prayer must be in private.
2. Believe your wealth is to be given to the poor
3. Believe all scripture is inerrant and must be observed At least all the Old Testament, since Jesus did not have the New Testament.
4. Believe in the Saturday Sabbath – that the Sunday Sabbath is against one of God’s Commandments.
5. Hate you brother, mother, etc. and leave them.
Lu 14:25 ś And there went great multitudes with him: and he turned, and said unto them,
26 If any [man] come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.
27 And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.
Joh 12:25 He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.
6. Peace -sword.
Mt 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
36 And a man’s foes [shall be] they of his own household.
37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.
39 He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.
Lu 22:35 And he said unto them, When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing.
36 Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take [it], and likewise [his] scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.
37 For I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: for the things concerning me have an end.
38 And they said, Lord, behold, here [are] two swords. And he said unto them, It is enough.
7. Believe in talking snakes (or the rest of Christianity has no foundation).
Genesis 3:1 Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the LORD God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?”
8. Believe in a burning, torturous, eternal Hell for all that do not believe Jesus to be God.
9. Believe that Jesus is the only way to salvation and to Heaven. There is absolutely no other way.
John 14:5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
10. You admire, support, and agree with the people that do not plan ahead over those that do. Blessed are…
Mt 6:25 ś Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
Mt 6:31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
Mt 6:34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day [is] the evil thereof.
Mt 10:19 But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak.
Mr 13:11 But when they shall lead [you], and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.
Lu 12:11 And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and [unto] magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say:
Lu 12:22 ś And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.
11. You admire, support, and laud the people that are poor over those that are well off or even wealthy. Even jealous of the poor since theirs is the kingdom of God.
Lu 6:20 ś And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed [be ye] poor: for yours is the kingdom of God.
12. Believe in a supernatural realm of spirits, devils, ghosts and actual angels.
Mr 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
Lu 7:21 And in that same hour he cured many of [their] infirmities and plagues, and of evil spirits; and unto many [that were] blind he gave sight.
Lu 8:2 And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils,
Mt 1:20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
Lu 1:35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.
Lu 1:11 And there appeared unto him an angel of the Lord standing on the right side of the altar of incense.
Mt 27:51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;
52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,
53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.
13. Move mountains and do other like things through faith and prayer alone.
Mr 11:23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
Mr 9:23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things [are] possible to him that believeth.
Mr 11:24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive [them], and ye shall have [them].
14. Believe that it is esteemed to be a eunuch.
Mt 19:12 For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from [their] mother’s womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven’s sake. He that is able to receive [it], let him receive [it].
15. Believes God grieves over the death of one sparrow; and must also believe that God is callous enough to be able to bear the sickness, suffering, and death of the multiplied millions of men, women, children, animals, birds and other sensate creatures, in every part of the world, in every century since time began. Especially when this Biblical God knows that it all stems from his own creativity! Yet this God is believed to be “a loving God”.
Mt 10:29 Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father
Mt 10:31 Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.
Lu 12:6 Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God?

ye are of more value than many sparrows.
16. Believe that all the kingdoms on earth can be seen from a mountaintop (China, Japan, North and South America from Palastine). To believe this one must believe the earth is flat.
Mt 4:8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
Lu 4:5 And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.
17. You admire, support, and agree with the people that do not resist evil done to them over those that do
Mt 5:11 Blessed are ye, when [men] shall revile you, and persecute [you], and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
Mt 5:39 But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.
Mt 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

Lu 9:23 And he said to [them] all, If any [man] will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
19. Believe Jesus and God are the same.
Joh 10:30 I and [my] Father are one.
Joh 8:19 Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also.
