Comment: – According to the Bible, all of the Bible is inerrant. All of it must be
obeyed and believed.
I agree with the Fundamentalists when they say that if any part of the Bible is suspect
then all the Bible is suspect. For instance, if the Bible says something that is contrary
to modern science then the whole Bible is suspect. If you say that only certain parts
of the Bible are inspired by God or that only certain parts are true, then how do you
know which parts are inspired or true and which parts aren’t inspired or true.
Are you somehow more connected to God than everyone else? I doubt it!
It would be better to say none of it is inspired, and use parts of the Bible only
to quote from as is done from. any other book.
If the Bible is true, so is Christianity. If the Bible cannot withstand critical examination,
neither can Christianity.
The above also applies to the Koran and Islam, and other organized religions and their book(s).
Whenever people are afraid to critically examine their ‘Holy” book(s) and their religion,
then both book(s) and religion are based on shaky ground Be suspicious of these!
Quote from Robert G. Ingersoll:
“Now they say that this book is inspired. I do not care whether it is or not; the question is, Is it true?
If it is true, it doesn’t need to be inspired. Nothing needs inspiration except a falsehood or a mistake”.
