According to the Bible Faith is more important than Reason

Comment: – The following are verses in the Bible that definitely consider faith superior to reason.  This would be useful for an religious organization,
a cleric, or any unscrupulous person to exercise complete power over others.

This is just opposite to a healthy approach to life — reason should always come before faith.

Mt 11:25

At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O
Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.

(The wise and the prudent are failures, only babes of faith are the winners)

Mr 4:11 – 12

And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God:
but unto them that are without, all [these] things are done in parables:

12 That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing
they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and [their]
sins should be forgiven them.

(Here it says, seeing what is right before your eyes and
hearing what is there, is not reality.  Reality is only what is given to the
believer, through faith alone.  This is completely backwards!)

1Co 1:18 – 27

For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which
are saved it is the power of God.

19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise,
and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.

20 Where [is] the wise? where [is] the scribe? where [is] the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?

21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after
wisdom:

23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a
stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;

24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ
the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, [are called]:

27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to
confound the wise
; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to
confound the things which are mighty;

(Wisdom of the world [science is a major part of this
wisdom] is foolishness.  You are to believe what is foolishness to most
people.  God of the Bible says you must believe this foolishness.
Faith is absolute, even if reason and evidence shows otherwise!
Strange!!)

1Co 3:18 – 19

Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth
to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.

19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For
it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.

(This says reason is false, faith is true)

1Co 2:14

But the natural man receiveth not the things of the
Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know [them], because they are spiritually discerned.

(‘spiritually discerned’ is pretty vague.  This suggests anything goes.

Anyone or any book that says something is of the Spirit of God is
to be accepted, even if it seems like foolishness to you.

This is weird!  In reality, only reason and evidence gathering  can result in some kind of true wisdom.)

Ro 3:7 – 8

For if the truth of God hath more abounded through
my lie
unto his glory; why yet am I also judged as a sinner?

8 And not [rather], (as we be slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say,) Let us do evil, that good may come? whose damnation is just.

1Co 9:20 – 23

And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law;

21 To them that are without law, as without law,
(being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law.

22 To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all [men], that I might by all means save some.

23 And this I do for the gospel’s sake, that I might be partaker thereof with [you].

(Anything goes, as long as it produces results, that is, converts.
Lying, doing evil, pretending to be something they are not are  all allowed as long as it promotes the gospel.  Insidious!! Sounds like Mafia techniques)

Joh 14:12 – 14

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he
do also; and greater [works] than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do [it].

(Faith is all you need to get whatever you ask, as long
as it is  in Jesus’ name.  Does this actually happen in reality?
The Bible says it does!)

Mt 17:20

And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto
this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

(Just a little faith will make anything possible to you.
Have you ever seen anyone move a mountain by shear faith?
The Bible says it’s easy!)

Joh 3:16

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Joh 3:36

He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

(Nothing else is required, only belief, to gain everlasting life.

Of course there is monstrous punishment for disbelief.

These verses are a most effective stick and carrot for the gullible
who believe that faith is above reason.)

Mr 9:43 – 48

And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life
maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire
that never shall be quenched:

44 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

45 And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life,
than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire
that never shall be quenched:

46 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

47 And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the
kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire:

48 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

(This is the result of subordinating reason to faith.
In this case faith in a falsehood.)

Ro 14:23

And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because [he eateth] not of faith: for whatsoever [is] not of faith is sin.

(Anything that is not of faith is sin.
To doubt anything of faith is damnation — the person is damned.
Reason is not an option here.)

Heb 10:28

He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:

29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of
the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

30 For we know him that hath said, Vengeance [belongeth] unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.

31 [It is] a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

(Anyone that uncovers the unreasonableness of most of the
Bible  should expect severe punishment by the God of the Bible.

Only faith matters, reason is nothing in comparison.

To reason is to gain the wrath of the God of the Bible

– a pretty good stick for the gullible)
